Crafted by one of Australia’s early jewellery firms A. Benjamin and Sons Melbourne and hallmarked as such.

Modelled as a three stone Trilogy style ring and set with two round faceted Sapphires and to the centre an old European cut diamonds.

Each gem is securely eight claw set to bypass shoulders and to a then thick and solid half round shank.

This wonderful piece of early Australian jewellery is clearly hallmarked with A. Benjamins symbol of a “Bee”, 18 and The M.J.A. of Victorias guarantee mark of a Sailing Ship.

Bright and beautiful, in remarkable condition for its age, this particularly pretty piece of collectible Australian history is a must for the serious collector.

Abraham Benjamin, A. Benjamin And Sons

The firm of P. Falk and Co wholesalers, importers and manufacturing jeweller, involved four partners; Philip and Silas Falk in Birmingham England, Salis Schlank in Adelaide and Abraham Benjamin in Melbourne.

In 1887 this partnership was dissolved with Falk and Co. continuing to trade in each centre.

With the dissolution of the partnership Abraham Benjamin founded his own business at Carson Place Melbourne.

By 1903 the firm had become A. Benjamin and Sons Pty Ltd.  A. Benjamin and Sons were members of the M.J.A. of Victoria from the time of its inception.

Their mark, a “Bee” is found in conjunction wit the Association’s guarantee stamps.
